Bognor were behind after just 4 minutes.  Antonis Vasiliou on the turn curled the ball high into the top left corner following a swift pass across the box.

On 8 minutes it was hard work by Jasper Mather that saw Dan Gifford latch onto a loose ball but from 7 or 8 yards out he smashed it high over the bar.

Bognor went further behind on 14 minutes as Vasiliou was set through the hosts defence with a nice pass to speed on and beat Ryan Hall at his near post.

Then Vasiliou turned provider as his swift cross had to be punched away high from Hall with his right hand.

Darion Furlong had to receive treatment after he pulled up off the ball on 25 minutes.  This allowed the rest of the players to get a drinks break and team talk before they restarted.

On 30 minutes Bognor had another good chance as Gifford brought down a bouncing ball to square it to Matt Burgess who smacked it early off the left post from the edge of the box.

Gifford appeared to be fouled on a through ball but he got up and ran direct at goal.  R’avan Constable did well to rush out and scupper the striker’s chance.  He did catch the player but the ball first on 33 minutes in a brave block.

Spencer Spurway did well to dig out a cross from the right.  The ball looped up to Mather in the air but his header spun up and off the top of the crossbar and out on 38 minutes.

A nice diagonal ball by Harvey Whyte found the outstretched Mather who neatly controlled the ball around the defender but Constable did well to come out of his goal quickly to gather it bravely at his feet yet again.

A diagonal ball out wide to Spurway saw the wing back, who ran inside, before shooting low at goal but this chance was well stopped again by Constable.

Cheshunt had the ball in the net again inside stoppage time but it didn’t count as Hassan Nalbant was offside after Vasiliou’s dangerous ball through set him up.

HT 0 – 2

Tommy Wood won a freekick just outside the box as Cheshunt started well again in the second half.  Alexander Gibson Hammond stepped up to hit it low around the wall but it was saved by Hall on 48 minutes.

Vasiliou did well to latch onto a bouncing pass over the defence but he volleyed it over the bar.

Then Gifford did well to run through to shoot at Constable’s near post but he saved it well low to his right on 52 minutes.

Then Burgess found Spurway on the overlap before running down the right and smashing high and wide of the goal.

On 60 minutes it was Mather who turned around before shooting it with his right boot but it forced Constable into a diving save.

Constable appeared to punch Gifford in the air with the ball loose and then Raul Da Silva was late in the challenge soon after winning Bognor a freekick and rightly went into the book.

A high defensive header found the boot of Tommy-Lee Higgs but he won a corner off a deflection.  Following the corner it was Mather who swerved it wide.

Bognor had a great opportunity to get a goal but failed as Higgs combined with Gifford but after outnumbering them at the back Higgs hit it straight at Constable from the edge of the box.

Then Mather did well to beat his man on the left before whipping a dangerous cross of which Constable had to divert away.

It was a nightmare for Bognor as they couldn’t hold onto possession for long enough before Gibson Hammond ran at the defenders before shooting low and into the net for the visitors on 73 minutes.

On 81 minutes it was Higgs who had a freekick dip over the crossbar from just outside the box as the Rocks were frustrating in attack.

Rocco Gamblin sped down the wing to bounce a cross in from the left but it was too far for Gifford to capitalise. Spurway on the back post was blocked with his fierce effort in the follow up.

Whyte went into the book on 89 minutes and conceded the freekick.  But Remi Sutton’s freekick was headed out.

Vasiliou made it his hat-trick a minute into stoppage time with a fine curling effort right into the top left corner.  Despite Bognor’s efforts, they just couldn’t find the goal they at least deserved.

Rocks are on the road next in the league as they travel to Bowers & Pitsea on Saturday 9th November, with kick off at 3pm.
