Bognor remain in the Isthmian Premier division for at least one more game as Dion Jarvis’s header saw them take all three points at home to Potters Bar Town.
Early on though, Brandon Adams slipped a ball with his back heel to Dylan Adjei-Hersey but he had strayed offside.
Joe Re had a swipe at goal with the outside of his boot but it bounced wide on 7 minutes.
Preston Woolston hit a freekick into the area of which Tommy-Lee Higgs flicked on, but the defence cleared the danger.
Ronnie Henry went down off the ball and required treatment from the physio. He did return to play after a dropped ball.
Prosper Keto won a right sided corner for the visitors. Dion Jarvis managed to head that chance away though.
Following good build up, Jasper Mather hit the side netting with his strike on the bounce from a tight angle in response on 17 minutes.
Then Mather found Lennie Smith on the right and after he miscued his control, he got a good cross in but Higgs was denied a strike in the heart of the area.
Field surged upfront to put the ball square to Higgs who stepped past one defender before curling his effort from outside the area just wide.
Ronnie Henry rightly went into the book after he clearly fouled Freddie Chester on two occasions once for the referee to indicate the foul and then again he reacted poorly. Higgs also went into the book for his reaction to the decision on 26 minutes.
On 30 minutes Adams ran through and his right footed effort was tipped onto the post and away by Ryan Hall who dived down to his right.
Thomas Avgoustidis straight from the corner crashed the underside of the crossbar and out from the resulting dead ball opportunity.
Then Avgoustidis did well to get his boot on the ball sweetly from outside the box after a corner but fired it high and wide of the left post soon after.
Higgs capitalised on a loose back pass by Joe Payne to run on, beat his marker but after trying to round the goalkeeper but Cian Moore got there bravely to block his chance on 39 minutes.
Bognir joint boss, Jamie Howell went into the book after complaining about Payne’s reaction to a late challenge moments later.
Doug Tuck set Bognor up on the break as his diagonal pass to Smith who did well to use his pace but with the ball bouncing, he fired his strike wide of the top right post on 45 minutes.
Smith and Higgs combined after Smith ran past his marker to set up Higgs with a short pass but he was blocked on the turn by goalkeeper, Moore.
The last chance of the first half saw Smith pummel the ball high into the area. Moore spilled the ball and it dropped straight to Higgs but it was only a clearance off the line that denied him.

Early in the second half it was Bognor who had a good chance, with Smith denied his low effort by Moore.
Smith then diverted the ball back across the box but Mather fired it wide on the volley.
Potters Bar’s Solomon Sambou went into the book on 55 minutes. The freekick was searching for Harvey Rew but he failed to divert it back into the box.
Joe Re did well to shoot at goal and Hall saved it and on the rebound Adams fired it straight back over the crossbar.
Hall saved another chance on 63 minutes when a low cross fom Reece Beckles-Richards saw him find Re, when his low effort on his first touch was steered along the deck and into the arms of the goalkeeper.
Dion Jarvis got Bognor’s goal on 71 minutes. A flick on by Higgs saw Jarvis pounce to head in the bouncing ball with Cian Moore stranded.
Preston Woolston crossed it with his left sided corner, which bounced out to Smith but he smashed it powerfully wide on 74 minutes.
Bognor did well again direct from the throw in on 80 minutes. Jarvis dug out a cross onto the head of Higgs but he diverted it wide with a free header.
Ashton Horstead got Bognor on the attack setting up Mather. The attacker did well to find Higgs running through on the overlap. Higgs sped through but hit it wide of the left post on 82 minutes.
Chester did well to hold it and pass it through but Higgs fired it over the bar from the edge of the box.
Following Payne’s deep freekick it was Re who went to ground but the referee ignored the penalty claims on 86 minutes.
Field gave away a silly freekick just outside the box. Payne stepped up to curl the ball high and wide inside the first minute of stoppage time.
But Bognor got through the 6 minutes of stoppage time unscathed to take a rare home win. They welcome Dulwich Hamlet next to Nyewood Lane on Saturday 12th April with kick off at 3pm.
