The misery continued for the Rocks as a last-gasp goal from fellow strugglers Whitehawk snatched all of the points at Nyewood Lane after Bognor had done so well to level the score.

Emmanuel Mensah had the first chance on 3 minutes as he latched onto a bouncing forward pass but knocked his effort on the rise wide of the left post.

Jasper Mather won a corner with an inspired run.  Matt Burgess got the corner kick in but it was headed wide by a defender.

Billie Clark miscued his effort soon after from the edge of the box when he looked set to get some contact, but failed to do so.

Jay Richardson committed a foul on Callum Barlow who went to ground after a header back into the area by Spencer Spurway.  The referee pointed straight to the spot.  Up stepped Charlie Walker to smash it high into the net with his penalty on 10 minutes.

Spurway had a chance after cutting inside from the right but Jasper Sheik was good with his stop.

Siya Ligendza did well to get Bognor attacking on the right flank.  His run ended with a low effort just wide of the right post on 15 minutes.

Charlie Bennett fired a chance wide after a Whitehawk corner as they deserved their lead early on at Nyewood Lane.

Walker did well to receive the ball from Kai Jennings but tried his luck from distance but his fierce effort flew high and wide on 22 minutes.

On 26 minutes Whitehawk had another attack as Walker found Barlow inside the box and his low shot was deflected wide of the post somehow.

On 29 minutes it was good work from Imran Kayani on the left that saw him square it to C Walker who fired it low and it forced a fingertips save low to his left by Hall.

Clark got a good cross in from the right which fell onto the boot of Mather but he stubbed his effort into the turf and it was cleared away.

A Burgess corner from the right fell into the crowded penalty area but the ball was cleared off the line.  Harvey Whyte went into the book on 41 minutes for fouling his man near the touchline.

Clark was clearly fouled by Oscar Borg inside stoppage time of the first half.

HT 0-1

Almost straight from kick off it was good play that teed up Ligendza with a strike from outside the box which only just bounced wide.

Whitehawk extended their lead on 49 minutes.  Good work from Imran Kayani on the left saw him place it onto the boot of Callum Barlow who hit it off the crossbar on the volley.  It bounced back to him and he hit it low and into the net through a crowded penalty area.

Clark looked to have been fouled in the box in the air but the the referee waved away the penalty appeals on 51 minutes.

Mather made an inspired run down the left and he cut the ball across to Dan Gifford who was blocked by Sheik and then Burgess on the follow up fired it narrowly over the bar.

Mensah curled another chance over the bar helped by a deflection.

Bognor got a goal back after good work from Gifford who passed it inside to Tommy-Lee Higgs who made it fly from distance on 67 minutes high into the net.

Ligendza then hit a chance on the turn and the ball fell to Jasper Mather who made no mistake slotting the ball low into the net on 69 minutes.

Gifford went into the book after a challenge and complaining afterwards.

Andrew Briggs got a yellow card after his foul on Higgs as it was either team’s game for the taking on 81 minutes.  Higgs played the freekick low into the box for Ligendza who hit it low off a defender.

Barlow hit another chance on the turn but it was well saved by Hall.  Spurway went into the book for blocking the freekick.

Spurway was then sent to the stands for his second bookable offence inside the 4th minute of stoppage time with another foul.

But it was a killer blow as Rocks failed to defend a set piece as the high hanging cross to the back post saw Wasiri Williams score in the 98th minute to steal the win and a crucial three points for the visitors as both look to get out of the relegation zone.

The Rocks are on the road next as they make the trip to Potters Bar Town on Saturday 21st December with kick off at 3pm.
