Millie Carter scored her second hat-trick and two goals from Jenna Forden and Steph Madden as Bognor Women’s stormed to a 5 – 0 win at Nyewood Lane.
The Bognor Women’s sterling record had continued on the weekend with a great comeback against SEFA at Nyewood Lane after being 2 – 0 down at half time. They hoped to continue in this form against Steyning Town under the lights.
After just 2 minutes Tia Stone’s early cross from the visitors was headed out by Alice Gue.
Lou Lou Robson’s ball through into the box looking for Millie Carter bounced out of play.
Carter did well to turn and play it to Robson who ran through but scuffed her shot on 8 minutes along the turf and into the grateful arms of visiting keeper Georgina Smith.
Nicole Robinson did well to gather the cross from the visitors moments later coming in from the right side.
Jenna Forden played a neat through ball to Carter one on one with the goalkeeper but she slipped her effort along the deck and wide on 11 minutes.
Amber Hazelwood had a shot deflected into the arms of Smith on 16 minutes moments later.
On 21 minutes it was a swift attack that saw Carter find Rhiannon Hambleton with a neat pass that split the defence. Hambleton ran through and chipped it off the crossbar and out.
Willow Exley had a long range chance fly over the crossbar on 23 minutes in response.
Holly Clarke hit another chance wide of the goal as Steyning looked dangerous with a high press.
Megan Thompson was clearly pulled by the hair by Sophie Rosie on 29 minutes. She was sent off with a straight red. Robson took the freekick but curled it directly wide of the goal.
Then Hazelwood had a direct effort skied over the bar on her first touch following a square pass to her soon after as Steyning looked dangerous in attack.
Forden did well to get a left footed strike in from the edge of the box which forced another save from Smith down to her left on 33 minutes.
On 36 minutes Robson hit a long range freekick just over the bar from near the left touchline.
Good work from birthday girl Molly Thorn saw Hambleton set up and she made a good incisive run before shooting agonisingly wide of the far post.
Following a corner by Carter on 41 minutes for the Rockettes, they managed to scramble a goal thanks to Jenna Forden who hit it low under everyone to take the lead.
Bognor extended their lead on 44 minutes. A neat through ball by Thompson split the defence allowing Carter to run onto it before shooting low beyond a diving Smith.
Macie Downs went into the book for tripping up Stone on the touchline just before the break.

Robinson miscued her clearance on 49 minutes. But despite Stone having the goal at her mercy, she bounced her effort wide of the left post.
Robson had a decent chance on the edge of the box forcing the goalkeeper into a parried save.
Bognor got their third on 53 minutes. Carter bravely closed down a back pass to the goalkeeper and tackled the goalkeeper on her goal line before tapping it in.
Hazelwood beat Amelia Atterbury to the ball before prodding it wide of the goal on 61 minutes.
Robson won a freekick just outside the box on the right side. Carter’s freekick was punched away at the back post with Robson in pursuit on 65 minutes.
The Rockettes made it four on 66 minutes. Carter notched her second hat-trick of the season as she burst past two defenders, rounded the goalkeeper, before firing it in from close range.
Lauren Tyler, for the hosts, curled a freekick from the left into the arms of Atterbury.
Then Forden did well to cross it to the back post but Hambleton steered her header wide on 71 minutes.
Hazelwood did well to turn on a low pass into the box before shooting low but it was a good save from Hazelwood.
Two substitutes were made as Georgia Selby came on for Thompson. On came Lydia Forden as well for the Rockettes replacing Hambleton.
Ellie Hogan went into the book on 82 minutes as she slid in late on Alice Gue.
Following her cross from the left, Jenna Forden hit another chance from the left side of the box high and wide on 89 minutes after Carter was applauded off for her second hat-trick of the season.
Steph Madden added to the tally as she made a run from the halfway line before shooting low from at least 25 yards out to nestle it in the bottom corner on 89 minutes.
Lydia Forden did so well to keep hold of possession on the touchline before crossing it to Robinson. She had replaced her goalkeeper shirt for an outfield one, but her fierce strike was hit straight at the goalkeeper inside the 4th alloted minute of stoppage time.
