When he is not turning out for Bognor Regis Town, Calvin is an assistant site manager with national house builder Taylor Wimpey. And when the company finish on a particular building site — where they have a defibrillator in place — they donate it to a local sports club or charity.
And so it was that Calvin presented club general manager Simon Cook with the defibrillator after our recent Sussex Transport Senior Cup win over Horsham YMCA.
Calvin said the job he was on at nearby Westergate/Fontwell ended and it was an easy decision to choose to donate to the Rocks, adding: “It’s a great initiative from Taylor Wimpey and so it made perfect sense to speak to Simon and arrange the donation and we are really happy to do so.”
Simon said the gesture was appreciated. He said: “It’s very kind of Taylor Wimpey to donate the defibrillator and we are delighted that through Calvin we were able to be the recipient of the business’s kindness!”
